windows and roof. High-quality insu-

lation and good double-glazed win-

dows massively reduce energy use

while increasing comfort.

Choosing the right heat source for a

building can save huge amounts of

energy and money. A number of con-

ditions should be considered before

choosing, including the size of the

building, insulation, comfort level,

maintenance issues and the available

heat sources in the local area. If district

heating is available, this is normally

the most common choice.

Control systems and components are

one of the easiest and most important

ways to save energy. Depending on

things like the desired temperature,

outdoor temperature and hot water

consumption, controls ensure ecien-

cy by maintaining the exact tempera-

ture, pressure and ow required.
